Floreo
Pioneering VR neurodiverse care with the potential to transform ABA therapy
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Floreo is a VR platform for diagnosing and treating neurodiverse individuals through clinician‑designed simulations, with FDA approval pending. Our research identified it as the first to effectively apply VR to neurodiverse care, with the potential to disrupt ABA therapy and dramatically shorten diagnosis wait times.

Problem

Access to autism behavioural therapy remains severely limited, historically constrained by geographic catchment areas and an almost exclusively in‑person delivery model. These barriers extend beyond location, with many families unable to reach essential services. Traditional therapy also requires multi‑year, high‑cost engagement, making support inaccessible for large populations. Long wait times further compound the problem: diagnoses and assessments for neurological and developmental conditions often take weeks to initiate and require expensive, multi‑hour evaluations with trained specialists. Together, these structural barriers create significant delays in care, limit early intervention, and leave many individuals without timely access to the support they need.

Solution

Floreo is demonstrating meaningful impact across therapy delivery, efficiency, and assessment. Clinics using Floreo report outcomes that match—and often exceed—traditional in‑person therapy, while VR sessions allow them to serve clients anywhere, expanding access and reducing travel‑related downtime. The platform also delivers “more skills in less time,” with clients requiring fewer hours to achieve equal or better progress than conventional methods. Looking ahead, Floreo’s Autistic Eyes technology aims to complete diagnostic assessments in under five minutes without specialised personnel.

Floreo Impact Overview

A wearable VR headset delivers immersive training experiences that mirror real‑life situations, supported by an app that keeps end‑users engaged and captures valuable behavioural data. Partnerships with healthcare providers ensure the content aligns with clinical needs, while user participation supplies the feedback loop required to refine lessons and improve effectiveness over time.

Each VR lesson is streamed directly to the headset, with co‑pilot mode offering guidance, clear instructions, and positive reinforcement. Engagement from care‑provider networks, consistent end‑user participation, and ongoing research all contribute to a robust evidence base. The result is completed lessons reviewed through the Floreo portal, usage data that informs product improvement, and subscriptions across partner channels.
As adoption grows, more clients who previously lacked access receive services. Treatment time decreases—Floreo’s study shows users need 39% fewer hours to achieve equal or better outcomes. Ultimately, clinics expand reach beyond catchment areas, and end‑users achieve superior results in significantly less time.

Impact KPIs

Impact Measurement & Management (IMM) Status
GREEN

With 1,781 unique clients in Y1, Floreo is targeting 1,955 in Y2 and 2,146 in Y3 for its KPI 1. Floreo recorded a reduction of 1,131 treatment hours and is targeting 1,414 and 1,767 for Y2 and Y3 for its KPI 2.

KPI 1
Number of unique clients who received the company’s services during the reporting period and who were unable to access these products and services from service providers in the past.
KPI 2
Reduction in the hours required for treatment compared to traditional methods. Floreo’s study shows end-users need 39% less time to achieve the same or better outcomes compared to traditional methods.
