Driving Europe’s shift to digital building analytics with category‑defining climate tech
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Lumoview digitises thermal and structural building data in just two seconds per room, creating precise digital twins that accelerate energy‑efficiency renovations and improve building management. As a category‑defining solution, it drives Europe’s shift toward fast, data‑rich digital building analytics—an essential enabler for decarbonising the construction sector.

Problem

The building sector accounts for nearly 40% of global energy use and over a third of EU CO₂ emissions, yet most existing buildings perform poorly due to weak insulation, outdated systems, and limited homeowner awareness. Retrofitting remains slow because of financial uncertainty, technical assessment challenges, and low demand, despite BIM’s potential to reduce time, cost, and waste. Older buildings add complexity, and digital audits are hindered by fragmented tools, limited automation, and slow data capture—contributing to a renovation rate of just 1% annually. These inefficiencies drive environmental, social, and financial burdens, including higher energy costs and increased energy poverty.

Solution

Lumoview accelerates BIM adoption by removing key barriers that slow the construction sector’s digital transition. Its technology rapidly digitises existing buildings and captures comprehensive visual, geometric, thermographic, and positional data—information that is typically incomplete, inaccurate, or time‑consuming to collect. This consolidated data stream reduces process time, supports reliable building assessments, and strengthens BIM‑based retrofit planning. By enabling faster, more accurate audits of older buildings, Lumoview increases the likelihood of successful energy‑efficiency renovations and helps raise the EU’s currently low 1% annual retrofit rate. Over time, improved data access can drive measurable energy and carbon reductions, particularly in underserved or energy‑poverty areas.

Lumoview Impact Overview

Lumoview’s system begins with the LumoScanner, a rapid interior‑scanning device, paired with LumoCloud, a digital platform for storing, analysing, and sharing building data. AI‑driven automation processes these inputs, while building owners and managers engage through customer support. Together, these components provide the foundation for fast, reliable, and standardised building assessments.

The technology captures and processes interior building data to create accurate digital twins. Lumoview then delivers structural insights, thermal U‑value assessments, and multiple data formats—including 3D CAD, floor plans, 2D layouts, and thermographic outputs. These analyses give customers clear, actionable guidance on energy‑efficiency improvements and retrofit opportunities, consolidating what is typically a fragmented and time‑consuming process.
As more buildings are scanned, the total square metres assessed translate directly into enabled energy‑efficiency upgrades. Lumoview estimates that 75% of surveyed building area proceeds to retrofit activity. By making assessments faster, cheaper, and data‑driven, Lumoview accelerates Europe’s transition to energy‑efficient buildings.
